  • Parkman Healthcare Partners is a Stamford, CT / NYC based healthcare investment firm that is seeking one or more Interns to work with the team throughout 2024. The firm was founded in 2019 and manages approximately $940 million in a public healthcare equity strategy. Over an 8-10 week period (start date TBD), the Intern will work directly with senior members of the Investment Team on several projects and will get exposure to multiple aspects of our business. Applicants must be strong communicators with an interest in or passion for healthcare, healthcare investing, investment marketing, or financial markets in general. Parkman hires quality people first and believes committed, quality people can solve problems together, regardless of their background.     Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Conduct industry-level research (e.g., therapeutic area mapping, pipeline analysis, commercial and regulatory assessment)

    • Lead company-level research in select biotech and med tech companies (e.g., desktop research, management interviews, medical and scientific conferences, and financial analysis)

    • Build and maintain financial models

    • Develop industry networks among KOLs, research scientists, investors, brokers, etc. to assist fundamental research

    Competencies and Skills:

    • PhD in biomedical field or MD degree is preferred but not required

    • 1-3 years of the following experiences is preferred but not required

    • HF/PE/VC/sell side analyst covering healthcare sub-sectors

    • Top tier management consulting focusing on healthcare

    • Top tier investment banking focusing on healthcare

    • Strategy, BD or R&D roles at major pharmaceutical or biotech companies

  • Parkman Healthcare Partners is hiring a Research Associate to focus on Healthcare Services and Medical Diagnostics. The Research Associate will report directly to the Partners leading Non-Therapeutics. The Research Associate will be based in Stamford, CT but can use flexible office space in NYC if needed. Salary and benefits are competitive.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyzing and researching the latest products, markets and trends within the healthcare services and medical diagnostics spaces

    • Leading company-level research in select healthcare services and diagnostics companies (e.g., desktop research, medical and scientific conferences, financial analysis)

    • Daily news aggregation and curation

    • Identifying and analyzing pertinent technological advancements

    • Attending relevant medical meetings and tradeshows (~10 days a quarter)

    • Traveling to company headquarters and facilities

    • Submitting weekly short form writeups and quarterly long form writeups

    Qualifications:

    • Scientific / medical experience preferred

    • Several years of work experience required, preferably with 2+ years in an academic or research lab

    • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills

    • Must act with urgency and be capable of meeting compressed timelines

    • Must value teamwork, excellence and accountability and enjoy a fast-paced work environment
