Position Description:
Parkman Healthcare Partners is seeking to hire a full-time Analyst to support investment due diligence and research within the pharmaceutical industry. The focus of the role will be performing and maintaining investment due diligence on specialty pharmaceutical companies, generic pharmaceutical companies, select large cap pharma companies under the guidance of and reporting directly to our CIO / Managing Member, Greg Martinez. The Analyst will be based in our Stamford office with intermittent travel required. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Responsibilities:
Gather, analyze, and communicate news / information across coverage universe consisting of large cap pharma, specialty pharma, and generics
Build, maintain, and update models for companies within coverage universe
Formulate and maintain price targets and scenarios for companies within coverage universe
Aggregate and analyze prescription data from relevant sources (IMS / Symphony etc.)
Attend relevant corporate and medical meetings and travel to company headquarters and facilities
Engage with management teams on an ongoing basis
Lead calls with Key Opinion Leaders to support investment due diligence in specific indications
Find, review, and present relevant medical literature to the investment team
Synthesize complex data and concepts into digestible reports
Qualifications / Skills:
2-5 years of experience in relevant / similar field (e.g., investment banking, private equity, corporate business development within the Healthcare sector)
Must value teamwork, excellence, and personal accountability
Strong modeling skills required – experience analyzing prescription data sets preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
Proactively curious approach towards understanding advancements in science and medicine
Exceptional work ethic and strong interest in studying Ophthalmology, Neurology, and other therapeutic areas of focus
Ability to quickly learn, adopt, and maintain Parkman’s investment process and philosophy
Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to firm culture
Well-organized and detail oriented
